The Green Resource Guide is an aid to those in the screen based industry in Toronto who wish to green their operations.

The guide uses the following criteria to evaluate products and services that can be added to this guide: environmental certification; eco-labeled products and services; and yet undefined green labels and attributes. Examples include:

  • Certification examples: ISO 1400/14001 / Environmental Management Standard, Certified Fair Trade; Certified Organic; Animal Care Certified; Environmental Choice Certification (EcoLogo); Forest Stewardship Council Certified; Natural Step; E3; Wildcrafted or Wildharvested (certified).
  • Eco-label examples: Green-e; Green Seal; Biodegradable; CFC Free; Ozone Safe; Recyclable; Recycled; Free Farmed; Free Range; GMO Free or GE Free; Low emissions vehicles).
  • Undefined labels and attributes: Natural; Reclaimed or recovered; Refurbished or remanufactured/salvaged; Reusable; Used; Clean energy (list); Renewable energy (list); Solar powered; Passive design; Chemical free; Chlorine free; No or low VOCs; Non-toxic; Phosphate free; LCD; Electric vehicle; Hybrid vehicle; Low emission vehicle; Fuel cell powered; Fuel efficient; Composite wood products; Vegetarian; Vegan; Minimal or no packaging; Manufactured from readily renewable resources; Made with natural resources that were extracted responsibly; Manufacturing process minimizes solid and waterborne waste; Manufacturing process is energy efficient; Pollution control devices are used during manufacturing; Local production.
